We have two community venues – Flowergate Hall Community Centre, which comprises a large Hall (Capacity up to 180 standing), a Community Art Cafe – The People’s Kitchen, and the People’s Fridge, our surplus food project.
Flowergate Hall Community Arts Centre is a brand new community venue and cafe in the historic heart of Whitby in North Yorkshire. It is a place to make, create, eat, dream and build community, and we aim to bring equitable and democratic arts experiences to Whitby and all who visit here.
Flowergate Hall is managed by Flash Company Arts Ltd. CIC – a music and arts organisation with community-building through shared arts experiences at its core. We are passionate about the exploration of cultural identity through folk arts and traditions from around the world.

In the summer of 2022 we took on the license to develop Flowergate Unitarian Chapel as a community space.
Both venues are beautiful and characterful, and are located at the heart of historic Whitby.
