Wednesday Club at Flowergate Hall – A Free Creative Youth Club
Every Wednesday during term time, Flowergate Hall comes to life with the energy and creativity of our Wednesday Club– a free, welcoming youth group for young people in and around Whitby.
Running from 4.30 to 6.30pm, the club offers a wide range of fun, hands-on activities including art, music making, and theatre. It’s a relaxed, friendly space where young people can explore new skills, express themselves, and build confidence.
Each session includes a shared pizza tea in the café, giving everyone a chance to unwind, chat and enjoy good food together. It’s a simple but important part of what makes Wednesday Club feel like a community.
This year, the young people told us they wanted to create their own theatre group and put on a play. So we said yes – and now they’re working on their very own version of The Tempest! From choosing scenes and creating costumes to stepping into the spotlight, they’re leading the way and making something brilliant.
It’s genuinely inspiring to watch these young people grow, create and thrive. Wednesday Club is more than just an after-school activity – it’s a space for imagination, connection and joy.
